Blepharoplasty is the procedure of rejuvenating the eye area by removing excess skin and/or orbital fat from the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid or both. A healthy eye and eye area make a person look young, dynamic and vivid.
01For Which Complaints Is It Applied?
Excess skin and fat accumulation on the upper eyelid; bagging, hollowness and lines on the lower eyelid can create a tired, aged and sad expression. Due to genetic reasons, excess upper-eyelid skin can also appear at a young age; for this reason suitable candidates are found independently of age. The aim of the surgery is to eliminate these problems and enable the person to feel more vigorous and self-confident.
02The Post-Operative Period
On the first day after surgery, only mild pain that can be relieved with painkillers is expected. The swelling and bruising on the eyelids and around the eyes usually pass within 1-2 weeks. The sutures are removed within 5-7 days and patients mostly return to their work and daily lives within a few days. The incisions are placed inside the natural fold on the upper lid and at the lash line on the lower lid; with good care they do not leave a disturbing scar in the long term.
